A tattoo well cared for in the first few weeks is a tattoo that stays sharp for years to come.
Right after the session, a Saniderm film is applied over the tattoo. It protects the skin from bacteria and friction during the critical first days of healing.
Leave the Saniderm on for 3 to 5 days, as long as no fluid bubble forms underneath and it's still sticking well to the skin. If it peels off or a bubble appears before then, it can be removed earlier.
Once the bandage is removed, gently wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap, then pat it dry with a clean towel — never rub.
Apply a thin layer of fragrance-free Aveeno cream. A small amount is enough — the skin needs to keep breathing to heal properly.
Avoid direct sun, swimming pools, baths, and intense sports for about 2 to 3 weeks, depending on the tattoo. These precautions greatly reduce the risk of infection or complications during healing.
The presence of pus is a clear sign of infection. If you notice any, reach out to me quickly and see a doctor or pharmacy if needed — better to act early than wait.
